The perpetrators of the Save Max supermarket robbery on the evening of December 19 last year are now locked up. The latest arrest is that of Jean Billy Teeluck, a 40-year-old welder living in Cité Ducray, Sainte Croix. His arrest was made on Thursday morning at his home by the men of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Metropolitan Police’s Northern Division. The first arrest in this case was made within minutes of the robbery on the same day. Dominique Rudy Noël, alias Lapin, 56, who was fleeing on a motorcycle, was intercepted with a bag containing Rs 208,725 and a bottle of whisky. Marie Angelica Anista Narainsamy and her companion Kris Michael Petricher, both aged 32, were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning, December 27, at their home on Avenue des Roses, Sainte-Croix.
While Rudy Noël, who lives in the CHA housing estate in Terre Rouge, has remained silent since his arrest, telling police superintendent Rajeshwar Ramsawock that he would give his statement in the presence of his lawyer, the three other suspects arrested have confessed. They told Inspector Ashvin Lullith how they took part with Rudy Noël in robbing the supermarket at around 9.15pm on Tuesday December 19, 2023. Using sabres and a dummy firearm, they made off with Rs 250,000, boxes of cigarettes and a bottle of whisky. When Rudy Noël was arrested, he was in possession of Rs 208,725.
Angelica Narainsamy, her partner Michael Petricher and Billy Teeluck described in great detail the robbery in which Rudy Noël participated.
