An aggressive operation, which was carried out on the basis of certain information this Tuesday morning of July 19 at route des Pamplemousses, Sainte-Croix, allowed to seize 222.41 grams of heroin. This drug with a street value of Rs 3,336,150 was found at the home of Priviraj Rughoodoss, a 33 year old car washer. The suspect will be brought before the court of Port-Louis this Wednesday morning of July 20 under a provisional charge of drug trafficking.
It was shortly after 10:30 a.m. this Tuesday, July 19, that a team of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) of Rose-Hill, under the supervision of the assistant superintendent of police, Ashik Jagai, stormed the home of Priviraj Rughoodoss. The raid was carried out by the Marcoss Commando of the National Coast Guard, the Special Response Group of the Special Supporting Unit and the police dog. This suspect was suspected of being involved in drug trafficking. The information from these police officers turned out to be true. They discovered 6 transparent plastics wrapped with adhesive tape which in turn contained a certain amount of heroin, 222. 41 grams.
These ADSU officers also seized a black and blue backpack and an electronic scale. Priviraj Rughoodoss is suspected of going to sell this drug.
