Pravind Jugnauth Evokes “A Loss For The Whole World”

The death of Queen Elizabeth II has moved the world. Yesterday, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth signed the book of condolences at the British High Commission in Mauritius.

It is mainly on social networks, notably his Facebook page and Twitter account, that Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth reacted first. He paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

“It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. My thoughts are with the British people and her close friends”, wrote the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister believes that Queen Elizabeth II has ruled in an exemplary manner during the last 70 years of her tenure.

“It is also a loss for the Commonwealth and the world,” said Pravind Jugnauth. In turn, the Prime Minister asked all Mauritians to pray that the Queen’s soul may now rest in peace.

Here is the full message posted by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth on social networks: “Mo fine apprane décès de la Reine Elizabeth II avec beaucoup tristesse. She reigned in an exemplary manner and my thoughts are with the British people and their loved ones as they accept this great loss. It is also a loss to the Commonwealth and to the world. We pray that he will rest in peace.”

Book of Condolence opened at British High Commission in Mauritius

The British High Commission in Mauritius has opened a Book of Condolences for Mauritian Government colleagues and VIPs to sign since this morning on appointment, following the demise of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II.

The Book will be made available on Monday 12 September for Diplomatic missions from 10 00 hours to 14 00 hours.

The Book of Condolences will be open to the public to sign from Tuesday 13 September to Friday 16 September between 10 00 hours to 13 00 hours.

Buckingham Palace has also opened an online condolence book on www.royal.uk
