Suraj Ramgoolam, 38, also known as Rajiv Aliminium, did not survive his injuries sustained in an accident on the Royal Road in Mon Songe, Rivière du Rempart, on Saturday evening, March 11. The car driven by this resident of Belle Vue Maurel ended up against a tree. Seriously injured, he was rushed to the northern hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It was around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, March 11, that police officers from the Rivière du Rempart police station were called to the scene of the accident. A black Nissan March car ended up against a tree on the right side of Mon Songe road. Volunteers transported Suraj Ramgoolam, who was working as an assembler of aluminum products, to the northern hospital. Unfortunately, the doctor on duty had to declare the death of this man at 23:42.
His body was then transported to the morgue of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis for an autopsy. The autopsy was performed on Sunday, March 12 at 10:00 am by Dr. Maxwell Monvoisin, Principal P0lice Medical Officer, and attributed his death to a lacerated liver.
The funeral of Suraj Ramgoolam took place at 3:30 pm on Sunday, March 12. He was cremated at L’Aventure.
