The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Vacoas has initiated an investigation to trace three individuals, who are believed to be the perpetrators of the theft of a large sum of money from a donation box in Reunion Kalimaye, Vacoas, following a report made early Thursday evening, April 14. According to surveillance camera footage, the three individuals were seen loitering around the Kalimaye on the day the crime was committed.
A 48-year-old woman, who lives in the area and is in charge of this place of worship, reported the case to the police station in Vacoas. In her complaint, she explained that the theft of money was committed between 3 and 5 am from a metal donation box.
According to her, in 2016 the amount that was in this box was Rs 25,000. Since then, she has never checked as it was her late husband, who was in charge of this Kalimaye. The CID is working with the division’s Field Intelligence Office men to trace these three suspects.
