Three horses will battle for victory in Saturday’s main race which will be contested over 1400. Bless My Path will be the favorite, but Blackburn Roc and Royal Wulff are both very good horses who can also win this race.
Bless My Path is a very consistent horse. He bagged two wins and a second place in three outings this season. He won easily in B66 on the 30th meeting, and he is moving up in category this time to face tougher competitors.
Bless My Path is quick at the start and he can even try to win from start to finish in the absence of a real ‘front runner’ in this small field. He also has a very good finish and will carry the bottom weight. Which makes him the big favorite of this race.
Royal Wulff has won only one race so far. That was on his first outing in June 2022 for The Duchess Of York Cup (1400m – G2). He then took a good second place behind Frosted Gold in The Barbe Cup (1600m – G1).
He is a very good finisher who has not been outclassed in his four outings this season. He will wear blinders for the first time in Mauritius, and he will try to follow more closely this time. He has a golden chance to win a second race in Mauritius.
Blackburn Roc is a very reliable horse who already won seven races in Mauritius. He started the 2023 season on a high note, but then competed against classy horses, being beaten by Frosted Gold, Walls Of Dubrovnik and Undercover Agent in his other three outings. He returns after two months and will be right there.
