A 60-year-old resident of the Latanier, St. Croix area reported a case of theft from her son, a 34-year-old drug addict. He removed the aluminum door from her bathroom during her absence on Sunday, March 26. She questioned her son upon his return, and he soon confessed that he is the author of this act and that he entrusted this door to a friend to be sold. The value of this door is Rs 8000.
It is in the evening of Sunday, March 26 that this sexagenarian went to the police station of Abercrombie, St. Croix to report a case of theft of an aluminum door of its bathroom this door. He said he gave it to a friend to find a client and with the money they could afford to buy drugs. She said that she questioned her son, who is a drug addict, about this and that he confessed that he was the one who kidnapped her.
This woman explained that she lives at this address with her son and daughter. Her son, she said came to live under the same roof in 2015 after divorcing his wife. His marriage was a failure because of his drug addiction. Very often, her son would argue with her over money.
During the evening of Sunday, March 26, this man was arrested on a theft charge. After his interrogation, he was placed in a cell at the Roche-Bois police station. On Monday, March 27, he was brought before the Port-Louis court on a provisional charge of theft. He was then taken back to the police cell.
