Five suspects are currently in custody after the death of 22-year-old Jonathan Mikael Parson. The body of the young man was found at the Highlands Rose Morcellement in Phoenix on June 26. The autopsy attributed due to “acute cerebral and pulmonary edema”.
The investigation was turned over to the Phoenix CID. Three men confessed on June 29, they revealed to investigators that on June 25, they were in the company of Jonathan Mikael Parson in a van driven by a certain Gopal returning from Port Louis after having consumed drugs. At about 8:30 p.m., reaching somewhere in Highland Rose, they noticed that the 22-year-old was unconscious. They stopped the van and left him on the sidewalk of a road and then drove away. These three suspects: ages 33, 19 and 21 are residents of Camp Fouquereaux Phoenix and are being charged with manslaughter.
Phoenix CID men then made arrests of two more suspects yesterday, a 29-year-old homeless man and a 38-year-old Phoenix resident. They too made the same confession as the first three suspects.
