A raid on a couple’s home in Upper Vale by an officer of the Child Development Unit of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare revealed that a twenty-month-old girl was being abused by her parents. The child had injuries to her head and face. After being taken to the hospital for treatment, the girl was subsequently placed at the Oiseau du Paradis center in Cap-Malheureux after the CDU obtained an Emergency Protection Order (EPO) from the Pamplemousses court.
