This is according to a letter from the Independent Broadcasting Authority, signed by Acting Director K. Ramphul, addressed to the Managing Director of Top FM Ltd. The correspondence is dated December 8.
It states that the Board met on the same day, December 8, and decided to renew the license of Top FM for a period of one year from December 13, 2021.
The letter also states that in its deliberations on whether or not to renew Top FM’s license, the regulator did not take into consideration the ongoing disputes because they involve a new element, which is the role of the Complaints Committee in the new legal framework.
