Vital Cross-Country League 2024 (4th Stage): Abhishek Custnea And Steffy Lee Ping Ching Win

There were no surprises at the fourth round of the Vital 2024 cross-country league held last Saturday at Mon Choisy, with victories for Abhishek Custnea and Steffy Lee Ping Ching in the senior men’s and women’s categories respectively.

Abhishek Custnea of Port-Louis Racers AC masterfully controlled the race to complete the 9.5 km in 32’46. Teammates Emmanuel Seechurn (33’08) and Shyaveen Dussaram (33’28) completed the podium.

In the girls’ category, Steffy Lee Ping Ching was unstoppable. She completed the 5.5 km in 22’21. Malika Ramasawmy was second in 24’36, while Lauryn Larose took bronze in 28’18.

Several athletes achieved the four-way pass during this stage. They are : Jamel Berthelot (U10), Selena Tonta (U12), Kelsie Leclerc (U14), Louise Dalais and Rémi Marin (U16), Kenan Leclerc (U18) and Daryll Pierre (U20).

The fifth round of the Vital 2024 cross-country league, which will also count towards the national championship, takes place next Saturday, March 23, at Sodnac Wellness Park, Candos.
