One week after his second place behind Simon Desvaux of Marigny in the opening round, Abishek Custnea of Port-Louis Racers AC has returned to success in St-Felix in the second round of the Vital 2022 cross country league. Sonia Soodon who returned from a month long training camp in Nancy, France, was the fastest in the women’s race.
The reigning Mauritian champion did not fail in his task in St-Felix. Over 5.5 km in the time of 19’10 and despite the efforts of Samuel Veilleuse19’14, Abishek Custnea ensured by imposing his rhythm to the race. Shyaveen Dussaram finished third in 19’15.
In the senior women’s race, Sonia Soodon was undisputed with a time of 17’36 over 4.5 km. Océanne Flores (21’12) and Ashley Telvave (22’00) took second and third place respectively.
The winners of the other categories are : Selena Tonta and Victor Collard(U10), Kelsy Leclerc and Adriel Berthelot (U12), Louise Dalais and Dan Sookurun (U14), Nia Keeling and Kenan Leclerc (U16), Céline Nanette and Brandon Sooriah (U18), Malika Ramasawmy and Hans Labonne (U20), Valérie Gérard and Jean-Luc Vilbrim (masters).
The third round will take place on August 20, starting at 9:30 am on the side of the public beach of Mon Choisy.
