Known for her sartorial choice of costumes and her ability for delivering chart-topping songs, Lady Gaga is set to make her movie comeback with the sequel of Joaquin Phoenix starrer Joker. The eccentric star has proved her acting mettle in films such as ‘A Star Is Born’ and the ‘House of Gucci’.
Recently, the superstar singer took to her social media handles to share a short musical teaser of her upcoming film Joker: Folie A Deux. Touted as a musical, the film will see Lady Gaga essaying the role of Harley Quinn. In the video, the silhouettes of Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) and Lady Gaga’s character (Harley Quinn) can be seen dancing against a dark red backdrop.
The video ends with the film’s title and confirmed release date, set for October 4, 2024, followed by the Joker’s iconic laugh that can be heard in the background. The tweet by Gaga also appears to confirm earlier reports that she was in talks to star in the highly anticipated sequel alongside Phoenix with speculation that she will portray Harley Quinn, reported Indian Media house News 18.

A 2019 American psychological thriller film, Joker was directed and produced by Todd Phillips. Phillips also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver. Starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, the commercially and critically acclaimed film also had Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Bill Camp, Shea Whigham, and Marc Maron in supporting roles.
Phoenix won an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Bafta for his tremendous performance as Joker.
The movie relates the life Arthur Fleck (portrayed by Phoenix), who is a failed clown and an aspiring stand-up comedian, as he descends into insanity, becomes a nihilist and launches a violent countercultural revolution against the rich in Gotham City.
