The questioning of Vimen Sabapati in connection with the release of the audio tapes in his possession began on Wednesday at the CCID. He is represented by Siddhardha Hawoldar, Shakeel Mohamed and Melany Nagen. The latter spoke to journalists after the exercise. She said that the police wanted to know under what circumstances Vimen Sapabati found himself in possession of these audio elements. The exercise will continue this Friday at 10.30am. “The investigators are very reliable and have great integrity”, she said. Melany Nagen added that VImen Sabapati was still being held in a police cell. She added that a motion for his release has been filed in the Port-Louis South court and will be debated this Monday 19 June at 1.30pm. She also stated that Vimen Sabapati does not want elements of the Special Striking Team to accompany him when he appears in court tomorrow.
