A 12-year-old girl had to be treated at the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis, on the afternoon of Monday June 26, after falling down the stairs of her college. This was after a girl had bitten him on the leg before fleeing. In the presence of her mother, this grade 7 pupil at Pailles SSS lodged a complaint at the local police station on the afternoon of Tuesday June 27.
The girl, who lives in Pailles, explained in her statement that on Monday June 26 at around 8.30 a.m., she left her classroom on the second floor to go to the toilet on the ground floor. She went down the stairs. To reach the toilet, she had to descend at least seven steps. Before reaching the last step, she felt someone bite her right foot. She lost her balance and fell.
She turned around and saw a schoolgirl running away. Injured, she went to hospital with a form 58 for treatment. In addition to the police investigation, the school management has also launched an internal inquiry.
