The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Trou aux Biches is investigating the theft of four bronze artefact torches. These were stolen from the Hotel Oberoi in Grande Pointe aux Piments. The hotel’s Quality Assurance Manager suspects two gardeners from a landscaping company.
On the afternoon of Monday May 13, the 48-year-old Quality Assurance Manager gave a statement to the Trou aux Biches police station concerning the theft of the four artefacts hanging on the wall. The theft took place at around 11 a.m. on May 5. While viewing the hotel’s surveillance camera footage, he saw the two gardeners unhooking the torches and placing them in a bag.
