Elon Musk is always on the hunt for bringing changes to Twitter and seeking updates, and this time Twitter has come out with an updated version of its verified subscription which contains three ways of verifying accounts- Twitter Gold, Grey, and Blue.
The earlier accounts which had blue checkmarks now possess gold tick. These color-coded checks (or ticks) signify three different types of accounts on Twitter-business, individual and government-affiliated.
What do these colors suggest?
-Gold checkmark should be used for verified companies or official business accounts
Grey checkmark for verified government accounts or accounts affiliated with the government and monitored by Twitter
-Blue checkmarks for individuals
Elon Musk relaunches Twitter Blue
Twitter’s owner Elon Musk relaunched Twitter Blue on Monday. This came after an increase in the number of fake accounts shocked advertisers and raised inhibitions over the microblogging site. The fake accounts sprouted after Twitter’s blue updated subscription was launched last month.
Elon Musk launched an updated version of Twitter Blue last month 10 days after his takeover of the social media website for $44 billion, and massive layoffs that slashed the company’s staff to half.
As part of its earlier update, the subscription earns revenue of $8 per month if accessing on web and $11 if signing up on an Apple device. The company is charging extra Apple devices as Musk claims that the technology company charges 30 percent as service fee on its app store.
Your Twitter account must be at least 90 days old and have a verified phone number in order to sign up for the Blue badge. Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, previously stated that basic Blue will have half as much advertising.
