The last stage of the Tour de Mauritius 2022 has once again witnessed the MCB Mauritius team’s demonstration of strength. Aurélien de Comarmond won a prestigious victory on the circuit of Sorèze and Christopher Lagane won the Tour for the second consecutive year.
Despite the multiple attacks of the French and Reunionese riders who wanted to save the day at all costs on this Tour 2022, it is the Mauritian Aurélien de Comarmond who won the final sprint in the time of 1h 13mins 37secs. Julien Chane Foc from Reunion and the Frenchman Maxime Jolly, both stage winners in this edition, took second and third place respectively.
As for the yellow jersey, Christopher Lagane, he won the Tour of Mauritius Cycling for the second consecutive year after neutralizing his opponents in the big mountain race on the fifth stage.
Christopher Lagane has cumulated 12h 09mins 54secs on the 485,3 kms. Frenchman Maxime Jolly took second place with 12h 12mins 39secs. Alexandre Mayer finished third in 12h 13mins 48secs.
