On Thursday, September 28, 2023, the new Mont Lubin Health Center was officially renamed in honor of Marie Jacqueline FELICITE, in the presence of Health Minister Kailesh Jagutpal, Chief Commissioner Johnson Roussety, G.O.S.K., Deputy Chief Commissioner Franceau Grandcourt, Regional Assembly President Christian Leopold, G.O.S.K., and Health Commissioner Nicolas Volbert.
Born Milazare, Marie Jacqueline FELICITE hails from Sainte Famille and was born on April 7, 1937. She joined the public sector as Rodrigues’ first midwife in 1966. Marie Jacqueline FELICITE was dedicated and worked humbly in the service of new mothers. She retired on April 2, 1997. She was involved with several organizations such as the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) and the Mauritius Family Planning Association (MFPA). At the age of 70, she left the MFPA and devoted her life to spirituality. Marie Jacqueline Felicité passed away on September 15, 2019 at the age of 92.
