The national team championship 2022 played yesterday at the Beau-Bassin gymnasium saw the victory of the pair composed of Brian Chan Yook Fo and Kevin Arekion who disposed of the duo Faiz Baboolall-Hans Ramoo on the score of 2 sets to 1.
Sixteen teams were registered for these championships. The golden rule for a team not to be vastly superior to the others was that two players from division 1 were not allowed to form a duo. So Brian Chan Yook Fo who is ranked in division 1 played with Kevin Arekion who is in division 3. The principle was to play two singles matches and one doubles match.
In the final singles matches Brian Chan Yook Fo lost 3-0 (4-11;8-11 and 8-11) against Faiz Baboolall while Kevin Arekion defeated Hans Ramoo 3-1 (11-6;11-6;10-12;11-5). Then in doubles Brian Chan Yook Fo and jevin Arekion won 3-0 (11-8 ;11-4 ;12-10).
The two bronze medals awarded for third place on the podium went to the duos Jason Pontoise-Hansley Rangasamy and Ryan Lo Chun Pun-Nigel Lee Mo Lin.
