For no apparent reason, a 13-year-old boy was assaulted in the toilet of his secondary school in Vacoas on Tuesday morning, 30 August. Two students beat him on the head and neck. Although he was not injured, he said he was in pain. The grade 8 student cited the college’s discipline master as a witness to the attack.
It was accompanied by his mother, a 38-year-old self-employed woman, that the teenager went to the Vacoas police station to file a complaint. In his statement made at around 8pm, this resident of La Caverne No. 2, Vacoas explained that on Tuesday 30 August at around 9:20am, he was in the toilet when two young people entered.
They started to assault him by hitting him on the head and neck. He said that he was not injured, but that he felt pain. The discipline master of the college, he said, witnessed the assault. The latter was entering the toilet when the victim was assaulted. The teenager was given a form 58 before going to the Victoria Hospital in Candos for treatment.
