The third day of questioning of the former MT CEO will finally resume on Tuesday. The Monday session did not take place due to the unavailability of all parties involved. As of Friday 15 July, Lawyer Gavin Glover remained evasive on the date and time of the resumption of Act III of the case, which he described as a Shakespearean tragedy.
Sherry Singh’s interrogations are under the following three charges: Breach of ICTA, Diffusing False News and Criminal Defamation brought against him by the Prime Minister on Monday, July 11. So far, he denies the allegations. In his statements to the press, Sherry Singh maintains the veracity of his statements as well as his allegations of attempted ‘Sniffing’ on the SAFE cable against Pravind Jugnauth, on Radio Plus’s Au Coeur de l’Info on 01 July with Nawaz Noorbux and l’Autre Etape de Sherry Singh on the Express.mu with Axcel Chenney on 12 July.
This case is likely to be a long one because of its complexity. The Chief Technical Officer (CTO), who accompanied and ‘supervised’ the Indian technicians at the Landing Station at Jacotet Bay on April 15 at the request of Sherry Singh, will also have to be heard by the officers under ACP Heman Jangi. Act III will be on 19 July.
