At the start of each new school year, the need for school materials is enormous. The school essentials: school bag, notebooks, pencil case, eraser, pencil sharpener, pencils, ruler, drawing book, pouch, wax crayons and colored pencils. To reduce the financial burden of purchasing these items, the Medine Horizons Foundation donated 170 individual kits of school materials to children from families living in difficult situations and who are starting Grade 1.  Besides, the objective of FMH to offer the chance to these children to start their new academic year, education is one of the priority axes of social development for Medine Group. “We are aware that the new school year of children can be financially a difficult time for families in need. The start of Grade 1 is also a big step for the children, and we are happy to be able to offer them all the necessary school material so that they can face the start of the school year with peace of mind,” stated Céline Guillot-Sestier, the director of the Medine Horizons Foundation. Note that due to health restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the FMH was unable to organize a ceremony for the handing over of school materials in the presence of the children. The team therefore met the concerned NGOs who took care of the distribution of the packs before the children beneficiaries start their academic year scheduled for this Monday, July 5. The funds for the purchase of these items were raised thanks to the contribution of Medine but also of the employees of the Group who were called upon to give generously during the past month.
