Curepipe Starlight SC (CSSC) defeated Plaisance SC (PSC) in the second semifinal of the Republic Cup of Handball this Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Phoenix Gymnasium with the score of 32-21. At halftime the score was 13 – 10 in favor of CSSC.
The Curepipians join AS Vacoas-Phoenix (ASVP) which has taken over the Union Sportive de Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill (USBBRH) 42-39, in the first semi-final that was played on October 8. It was necessary to go to the penalty shootout to decide between the two teams, as the score after regulation time was 32-32 and 37-37 after overtime.
The men’s final will be played next Saturday, October 16 at 6:00 pm and will be preceded by the women’s game which will pit Union Sportive de Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill against Curepipe Rangers at 4:00 pm. Both finals are currently scheduled to be played at the Phoenix gym.
