His interrogation, which began on Thursday 14 October, continued this morning at the Central CID. Rama Valayden has been summoned following a complaint from Yogida Sawmynaden. After the exercise, the lawyer said that it is a big mistake to think he and the Avenegrs can be stopped. He added that they will do and job and continue the fight come what may. “They are trying to intimidate us and put pressure on us. This will not work,” added Rama Valayden. The former Attorney General who was assisted by a panel of lawyers does not rule out the possibility that other members of the Avengers can be summoned by CCID investigators.
Sanjeev Teeluckdharry, one of Rama Valayden’s lawyers, also intervened. For him, this summons forms part of a campaign of persecution and victimization done by government. He added that it is clear that the allegations made by Yogida Sawmynaden do not stand. It should be noted that Rama Valayden has, up to now, asserted his right to silence in this case.
