The Managing Director of the State Trading Corporation (STC), Rajiv Servansingh, announced that the Petroleum Pricing Committee (PPC) will meet before the fixed date of January 13, 2023. He also said that a meeting of the PPC will be held in the next few days and added that the committee will make its decision based on the figures that the STC will submit to the PPC in view of the price developments in the market. “We can not anticipate at this time,” he said.
On the other hand, the Managing Director of the STC also said that: “We have launched a tender for petroleum products and we have carried out an exercise of recommendations to the government. And we are waiting for the green light from the government.
He also hinted that the STC will continue to market products under the Smatch brand, again this year, milk powder, edible oil, basmati rice and dry grains.
The Smatch brand products will continue to be available on store shelves this year. The STC plans to import other food products as needed. This was stated by the director of the organization, Rajiv Servansingh in an exclusive interview with MBC. Further on, Rajiv Servansingh also talks about the STC’s flagship projects, including the construction of a warehouse in Jin Fei, investment in “bunkering” among others.
