On the occasion of National Day 2024 and on the advice of the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, National Awards were conferred to the recipients by the President, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, yesterday afternoon, during a ceremony held at the State House in Réduit.
The Vice-President, Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boissézon, the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, accompanied by his spouse, Mrs Kobita Jugnauth, the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, and other eminent personalities graced the Insignia award ceremony.
Recipients of the National Awards are:
GRAND COMMANDER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (GCSK)
- Dr Louis Jean Claude Autrey, CSK, for valuable contribution in the fields of education and science.
- Mr Louis Olivier Bancoult, OSK, for valuable contribution to the welfare of the Chagossian Community.
GRAND OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (GOSK)
- Mr Anil Kumarsing Dip, CSK, for commendable service in the Police Force.
- Mr Franceau Aubret Grandcourt, for distinguished service in the political field.
- Late Mr Eric Joseph Raoul Guimbeau, for significant contribution in the economic sector.
- Mr M. Sudhamo Lal, CSK, for significant contribution in the administration and collection of taxes.
- Mr Noël Leung Shing, for significant contribution in the business sector.
