Police Comes With A Diversion Plan For The Ordination Of Bishop Durhône This Sunday At Marie Reine De La Paix

The Commissioner of Police issued a press release on Wednesday setting out the various traffic diversions that will be in place in the capital on Sunday 20 August. This was to mark the ordination ceremony of the new Bishop of Port Louis, Mgr Jean Michaël Durhône.

Mgr Leen Street, from the Old Moka Road junction to Labourdonnais Street, will be closed to traffic from midday to 6pm this Sunday. This area will be pedestrianised only.

All roads in the vicinity of Rue La Gaité, Rue Volcy Pougnet, Rue Labourdonnais and Rue Mgr Leen will be closed from noon this Sunday and will become pedestrian zones.

Rue Labourdonnais, from its junction with rue Volcy Pougnet to rue Mgr Leen, will become a one-way street from midday on 20 August.

Parking will be prohibited on rue Mgr Leen, rue Labourdonnais, rue Volcy Pougnet, rue Orléans, rue d’Entrecasteaux, rue Deschartes and rue Old Moka Road.

Drivers will be able to park their vehicles at Champ de Mars and Les Salines.
