This will help assess the incidence of malnutrition and its drivers among the population, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The aim is to study the food consumption habits and to assess the nutritional status of the population. The data collected will help define strategies and develop action plans for the fight against non-communicable diseases in the country. To this end, officials from the Department of Health and Welfare will visit the locations listed below from July 23 to August 10, 2022.
The Department of Health and Welfare is seeking the cooperation of the public in conducting this exercise.
In addition, the findings of the national study will not only be used to monitor and evaluate progress made by comparing previous nutritional data, but will also help the Ministry of Health fill in the gaps. “The survey will also help assess ongoing nutrition programs as specified in the National Nutrition Action Plan 2016-2020 and provide valuable information that will strengthen nutrition services, action plans and program delivery,” he pointed out.
