The first edition of the Mauritius Urban Music Awards (MUMA) took place on Saturday, October 30, at La Vallée Village – Pamplemousses. Several artists and institutions working for music were rewarded.
Often in need of recognition, artists can now count on another contest to highlight their talent. Present in 14 countries, the Urban Music Awards, which has just been established in Mauritius, celebrates all the actors of the music industry.
Cindia Amerally-Dupuy was rewarded for her song Monn Love – elected best single: “It is a great pride for me. Especially since I did everything on this song from writing it to composing the music and even the video script. All my hard work paid off in the end.
Voted Best Entertainer, Bigg Frankii dedicates his victory to his family and fans: “I like to create humorous videos to entertain my communities on social networks. But I’m not alone. Behind me there are also my family and my girlfriend who support me. This award is for all of them, but mostly to my fans.”
