The Metro line from Rose-Hill to Réduit via Ebène will be inaugurated this Sunday, January 22, in the presence of Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and India’s ambassador to Mauritius, Nandini Singla. The official inauguration ceremony will be in Réduit.
The Rose-Hill to Reduced line will be operational from 6 am on Monday, January 23, until 7 pm. The fare for an adult using the ME Card has been fixed at Rs 32 for this trip while a person buying a ‘single use ticket’ will have to pay Rs 35. Students will have to pay Rs 17 if they have the appropriate ME Card.
The Metro Express extension between Victoria Urban Terminal Metro Station and Place d’Armes will also be operational from Monday, January 23 at 6 am.
Passengers coming from Curepipe or Port Louis to Réduit must get off the train at Rose Hill Central and change platforms (platform 3 towards Réduit). Train frequency along Phase 3 will be 10 minutes.
Please note that passengers must check in at their initial station and check out ONLY at their final destination station (no intermediate checkouts). No intermediate check-in is required at RHC.
