A case of food poisoning was reported to the Montagne Longue police station by a policeman from the Technical Unit of the Special Supporting Unit (SSU) on the evening of Sunday July 9. He reported that his three-month-old son had been consuming a brand of milk since Friday July 7, which he had bought in a Creve-Coeur supermarket. When he checked the milk box, he found that the product had expired on Monday February 6, 2023.
It was shortly after 9pm on the evening of Sunday July 9 that this 33-year-old policeman from the village of Montagne Longue went to the local police station to report a case of food poisoning. The case concerned a tin of milk he had bought for the sum of Rs 633 in a Crève-Cœur supermarket at around 5 p.m. on Friday July 7.
Since then, his son has been fed with this milk. In the early evening of Sunday July 9, at around 7 p.m., the infant’s health deteriorated. He called for an ambulance to take his son to the northern hospital. After being seen by a pediatrician, the baby was admitted for observation at the hospital with his mother.
