It will be Ramapatee Gujadhur last day as a horse trainer. He won 24 classic races, and he will try to leave the show with a last win in a main race. He will have two good chances with favourite Holy Warrior and outsider Favour.
Ramapatee Gujadhur can finish his trainer’s career on a high note this Sunday. He will try to win the main event which will be a group 3 race over 1850m with Favour or Holy Warrior. Favour’s last race in the Gold Cup is to be ignored. He won over 1850m before, and he can be right there if there is a fight for the lead. Holy Warrior finished second behind Consul Of War last time. He fought on well and was beaten by only 0.15 length. He will carry 57 Kg again, but Consul Of War will have 3 kg more on his back as a penalty after his win. Holy Warrior won from start to finish, but he can also follow close to the leader before finishing strongly.
Consul Of War is by far the “best” stayer of the season, following his victory in the Presidents Cup and his good races in the Golden Trophy and the Maiden. Consul Of will carry the ‘top weight’ of the race, but his good draw should help him not to follow too far behind. He will challenge the leader in the final straight and he can win his fourth race this season.
His boxmate, Stream Ahead, winner at his last attempt, should not be underestimated. He showed that he his able to race up front or follow close behind.
Bag Of Tricks recovered well after his health problems. The winner in the 4-year-olds last season will have to confirm his good last race.
Tsitsikamma Dance is a good outsider. He finished second in his last two outings. He will carry the bottom weight. He can finish strongly to turn the tables.
