An individual riding an electric scooter is being actively sought by members of Grand Baie’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) for having thrown a molotov cocktail onto the roof of Le Gourmet restaurant. He was seen on the evening of Monday November 6, lighting the projectile before throwing it in the direction of the Senator gaming house. The Molotov cocktail landed on the roof of Le Gourmet restaurant. The worst was avoided thanks to the prompt intervention of a team of police officers from the Grand Baie police station on patrol on the Route Côtière.
It was 9:45pm on the evening of Monday November 6. They noticed a burning object on the roof of Le Gourmet restaurant. They immediately went to the site. Using an extinguisher, they were able to extinguish the fire.
They discovered that the object was a Molotov cocktail – a piece of cloth placed in the pint gave off the smell of petrol.
