An accident of rare violence occurred at the entrance of the hotel Jin Fei, Riche-Terre between an ambulance of the northern clinic and a car of the brand Renault Trivan this Thursday, April 21 at around 12:05. The driver of this grey car registered in the year 2020, a 36 year old man living in Vallée des Prêtres was seriously injured. After receiving treatment at the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis, he was placed under artificial respiration in an intensive care unit.
Police officers from the Terre-Rouge police station were called to the scene of the accident. This after an ambulance of the northern clinic and a Renault Trivan collided in Jin Fei, Riche-Terre. Both vehicles were seriously damaged. The driver of the ambulance, 21 years old and living in Cité La Cure and the driver of the car were injured.
The driver of the car was evacuated to the Dr. Jeetoo Hospital in Port-Louis in an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service. After receiving treatment, he was placed on artificial respiration in an intensive care unit. His condition is considered serious. The driver of the ambulance was released from the hospital after receiving treatment.
Both drivers were given a breathalyzer test which was negative. An investigation has been opened at the Terre-Rouge police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident.
