The suspect does not hold a firearms licence.
The raid by the Adsu team based in Rose-Hill was carried out following information that the man was involved in drug trafficking. After hours of surveillance, a raid was conducted at the home of the 54-year-old driver. After the search, the suspect was taken to the Adsu office in Rose-Hill for questioning. He was subsequently taken into custody.
The seized exhibits will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Reduit for analysis.
