The leader of the Reform Party held a press conference on Monday. Roshi Bhadain explained that his team and the Avengers are reviewing the whole Angus Road case to hand it over to international bodies. For him, this is the only option available as the police and the Independent Commission against Corruption are “controlled” by the government and Parliament is “suffocated“.
Roshi Bhadain explained that he will send the case to the United Nations, then to the Commonwealth Secretariat. He will also hand over the file to the Financial Action Task Force, the European Union, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESSAMLAG).
At the local level, Roshi Bhadain announced that the case prepared by the Avengers and his group will also be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions. “The document will contain the offences that we believe have been committed by Pravind Jugnauth and all those involved in this case. It will then be up to the DPP to decide how to proceed,” added Roshi Bhadain.
He also mentioned the option of a private prosecution, that is being kept as the last resort.
