Dominique Seedeeal, alias Darren L’Activist, has been released after two weeks in detention. He was arrested for spreading false news on 20 August. He appeared in court in Port Louis this morning. The police did not object to his release on bail this time.
He will have to pay a sum of Rs 11,150 and an debt recognizance of Rs 40,000. He is accused of making defamatory comments on Facebook about the Special Striking team following the arrest of Akil Bissessur. Darren L’Activiste was already on parole in another case.
