Ahmad Nissar Jandoo, a notorious 39-year-old recidivist, is suspected of being the author of several cases of gold jewelry theft in various parts of the country. This resident of Leclézio Street, Vallée-Pitot was arrested on Thursday 17 March for the theft of Rs 9,670 and jewelry worth Rs 104,981 in Plaine-Verte.
On Friday, March 25, he was identified by men of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Eau-Coulée, as the burglar of the house of a 67-year-old woman where he had taken jewelry, a tablet and money. The whole is worth Rs 300 000.
Nissar Jandoo, who is on file at the Pitot Valley Police Station, was apprehended in an operation mounted by the men of Inspectors Lullith and Ghoorah of the CID of the Metropolitan Police North Division. He was suspected of being the perpetrator of a robbery against a 49 year old man on January 2, 2010 at 11:40 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. It was at the home of this forty year old man at Guimbeau Street, Plaine-Verte. Under close interrogation, he confessed that he stole four gold rings, four bracelets, five gold-plated bracelets, two gold-plated rings and the sum of Rs 9 670. The whole is estimated at Rs 104,981.
In the wake of the exchange of information, this suspect was handed over to the men of the CID of Eau-Coulée for questioning concerning a case of theft committed in Curepipe on February 21 between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm.
