Candidate for the 70th edition of Miss Universe, Anne Murielle Ravina has the feeling of duty accomplished, even if she did not go far in the adventure. Before heading to France where she will take a well-deserved vacation, the young woman answered our questions.
What do you remember from your participation in the Miss Universe contest?
Miss Universe gave me a better understanding of international beauty contests. The contest also allowed me to discover the culture of Israel and to make beautiful friendships with other Misses. I also understood that it takes a lot of discipline and rigor to participate in a contest of this level.
What did you miss to bring the crown to Mauritius?
First of all, I have to say that I went to this competition to make a difference. I sacrificed myself and I gave everything to go as far as possible in this competition. But, unfortunately it was not the case. You also have to know that you need a lot of support to win. You need both the support of your people and the government. As for me, I am very satisfied with my career. Winning is not always about bringing home the crown. Winning is also a great experience.
Your participations in international competitions have given you a solid experience. Do you intend to share this know-how with the next Misses? If so, how?
It is true that I have learned a lot and it is now time to pass on my knowledge to the next Misses. To this end, I intend to join Miss Mauritius Organization to coach the new generation of Misses. My dream is to see a Mauritian Miss bring back a crown even if she comes from a small country like ours. But, I repeat, none of this will be possible without the support of the State.
