Elected Miss Supranational Africa last July 15 in Poland, Alexandrine Belle-Etoile intends this time to make a good show at the Miss Universe contest next December. In the interview she gave us from Dubai, she talks about her adventure at Miss Supranational and her other projects.

What have you won so far as a beauty pageant?
Miss University Mauritius in 2018. Then I qualified automatically for the Miss Mauritius 2022 pageant following the withdrawal of Anne-Murielle Ravina. By the way, I presented myself to the casting for Miss Mauritius 2023. On the spot having scored the most points the organization elected me Miss Mauritius 2022 while proposing me to participate in the contest of Miss Supranational 2022 in Poland. On the spot I won two titles: Top Model Supra Africa against Miss South Africa and Miss Supranational Africa. This is the 3rd time that Mauritius won this contest after 2016 and 2018.

How did your preparation go?
Elected automatically in April, I had two to three months of preparation. With the organization I had a lot of coaching. I was also very supported by Samuel David – my hairdresser. I was also able to count on the brands I worked with as a model.

Did you expect such a performance ?
Not at all. Even the title of Top Model Supra Africa was a pleasant surprise. Because I never had training for the catwalk because of lack of availability. I did as I am used to do as a model. But, all this would not have been possible without the support of Mauritians and my sponsors.

How does it feel to be the first Mauritian to make it to the Top 12 of Miss Supranational 2022?
I am very proud, especially since there were 70 countries. I hope that other Mauritian women will do even better than me by continuing the work done so far.

Do you have other contests in mind?
Miss Universe is my next goal. I want to shine more at the Miss Universe contest.

What are your other projects?
As a painter and art teacher, I would like to open an art school to teach children, teenagers, adults and even those who are currently retired and could not take painting classes earlier in their lives.
