This year the Bamboo Sculpture School is celebrating its 21st anniversary. To commemorate the event, the school is organising an exhibition and sale from 25 September to 1 October.
Founded by Lewis Dick, the Bamboo Sculpture School helps apprentice sculptors bring wood to life. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the adventure. To mark the occasion, an open-air exhibition and sale is planned for 25 September at the school’s headquarters: “It all started here in the family’s backyard. It was an obvious choice for us to hold the exhibition in the school grounds,” explains Jacques-Henri Dick, Lewis’ son and also a teacher at the sculpture school.
The exhibition will be open to the public every day until 1 October between 9 am and 4 pm and is also intended to be a platform for other art forms: “There will be sculptures, but also drawings and paintings, because a sculpture always starts with a sketch. We also invite other artists who wish to participate in the event to contact us on the following number: 59 82 22 05.
In addition, although admission is free, a tray will be placed at the door: “Visitors are free to put in the amount of their choice. The money collected will be used for the education of the children who attend the school,” adds Jacques-Henri.
