So after some delays, Air Belgium flights to Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa, started this Friday, with a frequency of two flights per week (on Tuesdays in addition). These are night flights, both on the outward and return journeys, with virtually no time difference. Two innovations: the aircraft will be new Airbus A330 Neo jets and will operate from Brussels. The first aircraft was presented to the travel community on Tuesday and a second is expected in mid-November.

Niky Terzakis, CEO of Air Belgium, said that “Mauritius has closed its borders for eighteen months, which shows the seriousness of its attitude. In Mauritius, vaccinations have been maximized, as in our country. The government gives confidence and the best proof is that it has convinced our customers too: we are almost fully booked until the beginning of January.”
