Mohamad Firdous Hussein Bucktowar, 39, did not survive the injuries he sustained in a fall at his sister-in-law’s home in Belle Vue Maurel on the morning of Sunday March 3. The Goodlands resident breathed his last in the intensive care unit on the afternoon of Sunday March 10. The autopsy performed on his body at the morgue of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis, attributed his death to septicemia. For the time being, the circumstances of this tragedy remain unknown.
Mohamad Firdous Hussein Bucktowar was rushed to the Dr Bruno Cheong Hospital in Flacq at around 6.50am on Sunday March 3, after a fall at her home in Belle Vue Maurel. The woman, a teacher by profession, explained that her father-in-law had been staying with her for three days. The 30-year-old, she said, had multiple injuries to his body and head.
After receiving treatment, he was admitted to the ward. According to the woman, her brother-in-law fell at around 6 a.m. on the morning of March 10. She said she saw him lying on the ground outside the house in a spot where drums were marred. His condition was considered serious. On March 8, the man was transferred to a ward in the intensive care unit. He died at 5.35pm on Sunday March 10.
The Rivière du Rempart police station is investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s fall, which led to his death.
