The lifeless body of Sarojeenee Subbamah Chiniah, 64, née Appadu was found this Tuesday morning, September 7, at the foot of a cliff in Cemetry Road, Souillac. The resident of Rose-Belle had been vacationing at her brother’s home in Suriname since Sunday, August 15. Her brother reported her missing to the Souillac police station on the evening of Monday 6 September.
In his statement made at the Souillac police station shortly before 8.30pm on the evening of Monday 6 September, her 61 year old brother said that her sister had been missing since 2pm on Monday 6 September. The septuagenarian, who was of sound mind, lived in Baramia, Rose-Belle. She had come to spend a holiday with her brother since 15 August.
The woman’s body was taken to the Victoria Hospital morgue in Candos for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched to shed light on the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
