The member of Black River SC (BRSC), Alexandre Mayer, retained his title of national cycling champion this Sunday, August 22 in Soreze.
He placed a decisive attack at 10 km from the finish line to make Yannick Lincoln of Moka Rangers SC (MRSC) lose his mate. Alexandre Mayer completed the 140 km in a time of 3h 46′ 23”. “I am satisfied with my current form and happy to have been able to keep the title of national champion” said the double champion of Mauritius.
Yannick Lincoln was credited with a time of 3h 46′ 47” while Thomas Desvaux (BRSC) crossed the finish line in 3h 49′ 58” to take the bronze medal.
In the girls’ category, Raphaelle Lamusse (MRSC) was crowned champion, covering the 63 km in 2h 03′ 29”. The podium was completed by Lucie Lagesse (BRSC) in 2h 03′ 33” and Celia Halbwachs (MRSC) in 2h 03′ 35”.
