Patrick Ramdhony’s writing contributed to the success of the group Alalila in the 80s. Now, at the age of 73, this passionate writer wants to create Parol sante, parol koze – a musical theater.
Hénry Rotile.
A lover of words, Patrick began by writing poems before he met the late France Lutchmun: “I told him I was writing texts. He was interested, and took them and turned them into songs with the group Alalila. I then joined the group as a ravannier. The group went from strength to strength and became very popular, especially on the hotel circuit,” recalls this Roches-Brunes resident.
When the group split up in the 1990s, Patrick continued to write songs. For the past two years, the author has been working on an audacious project: “I’ve put together 15 of my songs. I’ve built around them a love story between two protagonists of a certain age. If love remains the central term of this piece of musical theater. I prefer this appellation as opposed to musical comedy.”
Patrick is currently looking for patrons to help him stage his play: “I’ve presented the play to a few people. They haven’t given me an answer yet. To put on the play, I need to find a way to finance the project. So I’d like to take this opportunity to appeal to any sponsors who would like to support me financially in this project.”
