Evenor Isabelle and Dimitri run Lab180 like chefs. Offering a catering service, the couple is considering opening their own baz manzé.
They spent years on cruise ships before deciding to open their own business. That was 3 years ago and the road was not easy: “After the birth of my daughter, I started my own business. Back home, Dimitri and I launched Cabanon cabanon créole, a snack bar. We kept the sign for 3 years before accepting a proposal for catering services in apartments. But then Covid-19 came along and threw a wrench in the works by drastically reducing tourist arrivals.”
Since they had to keep the family pot boiling, the Evenors decided to open a catering service: “Lab180 is a new adventure that offers a catering service with specialties from around the world since we have worked on cruise ships. Our cuisine is very cosmopolitan. Our cuisine is very cosmopolitan, and we would like to introduce it to Mauritians by opening a restaurant in Albion soon,” explains Isabelle.
