Dr. Hooshila Devi Reesaul has just added another award to her list of achievements. On December 26, the Bettiah International Film Festival in Bihar, India awarded her the Special Jury Prize for her film Poursavon ki Kahani.
Another distinction for Dr. Reesaul. Our compatriot won the Jury Prize for her latest film: “This prize means a lot to me. I am very happy that my film has captured the attention of the jury out of over a thousand submissions.”
Made in Bhojpuri, the film tells the story of Indian indentured laborers: “The film traces the lives of our ancestors when they arrived in Mauritius. I tell the story of their contribution to the development of the country until Independence,” explains this resident of Castel.
With this success, Dr. Hooshila Devi Reesaul does not intend to stop there: “I have many productions in mind, especially to raise awareness among the Mauritian population on the evils of society. I have also just completed another film that was selected in a competition organized by ICAC. I also have other projects, which the current health restrictions prevent me from realizing.
