2500 euros! A huge sum of money in Madagascar for a housemaid. That was the sum proposed to Mrs Tiaraza Syldette Ratolimevasoa to bring heroine in Mauritius. The 32-year-old was arrested in a guesthouse in Mahebourg a few hours after landing in Mauritius from Madagascar. No drugs were found in her possession but pressed by ADSU officers, she conceded that they were inside her body.
She was brought to a hospital where pellets of heroine were expelled, namely 304.8 grams of the drugs were seized. She admitted that she has imported the drugs in exchange of 2500 euros. The contact delivery with the dealer in Mauritius never happened. The Court of Assizes has sentenced her to undergo 12 years of penal servitude.
